Genetic testing

Genetic testing to detect SNPs

Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms — Great Plains Lab GPL-SNP-1000 Test. This test is valuable for identification of your predisposition to several disorders such as:

  • ADHD
  • Allergies
  • Adverse drug reactions
  • Analysis of drug detoxification pathways
  • Anxiety
  • Arthritis
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Cancer
  • Depression
  • Heart Disease
  • Osteoporosis
  • Schizophrenia
  • and more…

Testing involves taking a cheek swab sample and submitting it to the lab for analysis. Great Plains Lab uses the most advanced “Next Generation Sequencing” methods which are more accurate and sensitive than types used by DNA testing services that work directly with the patient. Also the GPL-SNP-1000 test is more comprehensive – testing for 1034 SNPs in 9 different pathways compared to only 274 SNPs done by the companies advertised on TV. Once results are received, our naturopathic physician will review these with you and design a specific treatment plan that can help how these genes are expressed (Epigenetics). The goal of this therapy is to change the course of your future health and prevent disease.
